Both a blessing, and a curse

I want my children to be smart and speak eloquently. There is, however, a limit.

Jesse has discovered a program called Wordgirl, and some other program that escapes me. Every episode teaches kids at least one new word. Jesse watches as many as he can.

Then, he finds a way to place his new words into everyday conversation to see how we react. If we don't, he explains that he used a new word and it means such and such, and aren't we proud of him?

Tonight, he used at least three new words and bragged about it.

He tells me that his one Teacher's Aide told him that he 'swallowed a dictionary' because he's using new words. I thought it was silly. Then, I read what his teacher wrote in his notebook - "Jesse is being very silly today, and even though we are proud of him for learning new words, he is driving us CRAZY!"

I can't argue. I agree, but what can I do? I got my wish. He's learning and maturing. And for right now, he's driving us all insane.

When does it all even out?
